The best bakers in town. I've known Andrew and family since childhood. Fruit cake : yum, bebinca: yum, dose : yum. The best part is the freshness.
It's a little cafe in Mapusa market that serves local Goan delicacies. Their food is fresh and the place smells really good. If you wish to try the local breads or sannas, this is a place to go. Also the 'bols' and prawn rissois are awesome! I loved going here and picking different things each time. So Goan!
It's hard to believe no one's reviewed Felicidade's yet!
This little no-frills bakery tucked away in the Mapuça market has some of the freshest baked treats, all with a hearty Goan flavour.
I strongly recommend their Beef Steak Poie - Crumb-fried slivers of beef stuffed inside one of Goa's most iconic breads, the poie, which is like a whole-wheat pocket.
The Rissóis de Camarão (prawn pastries) are dainty and savoury, while the Corned Beef Paozinho (Goan for 'tiny pao') has been served here long before sliders came in vogue.
Felicidade's also has the freshest toddy-leavened sannas, available in two varieties - plain and stuffed with jaggery.
But you'd better show up before noon, or you might find all of the good stuff gone. After that, it's probably time for their siesta, in true sossegado style ;-)
